"HERE'S TO THE BIZ"

This tune was really just a lark. And only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the rampant corruption, hypocrisy, and bloodless money sucking of the music industry. There's a lot more that I could say but for a 3-chord Punk Rock song it gets the point across. This was written & recorded in about an hour. ~rh "HERE'S TO THE BIZ"

CHORUS:

Here's to the biz

what a load of shit it is

What it's all about

Chew you up and spit you out

1st verse:

$400 nosebleed seats

My first car cost less than that

Officially licensed merch is Chinese

Factory red, t-shirt black

Yesterday's free hello on the street

Today's four-figure meet and greet

2nd verse:

For the price of a ticket nowadays

You don't even get a stub

Just a barcode on your phone.

Are you thirsty? We'll, here's the rub:

If you want a coupla' beers

Sing the second mortgage Blues

I hope you like it warm and stale

And wearing it on your shoes

3rd verse:

Digital audio workstation

put recording studios out to pasture

virtual instruments emulate analog circuitry do it cheaper, faster

Auto tune, Pitch correct, Pro tools, Loop & sample, Cut & paste,

Software / hard drive, EQ presets, Rack mounted e-ffects

Interface plug-ins, Editing suite, Midi sequence

Outro:

Fix it in the mix (repeat ad nauseam) Download this track for free here:
