For Christopher and William

This will be the one
No one wants to sing
When one of us is gone
Cuz the trio was our thing
Maybe it's morbid
To wonder which two will do
What, if one of us is gone
It might be me, it might be him,
Or it might be you
Now it weren't the purdiest or the sturdiest
Ship to ever sail
But we cut through the roughest waters
Like lightning through hail
Triplet brothers of three mothers
Whichever two were in the shit
Number three was raising bail
This will be the one
The last man standing
Won't even wanna hum
When the ghost harmony rings
And the thunder drums
And the distant echo comes
From God knows where
As the breeze in the trees begins to sing
The rabble never really left the basement
Kicking the gong around the upper atmosphere
Tight bros, up the dose, burn the clothes, firehose,
Comatose in high gear
This will be the one
To resonate throughout the years
The laughter and the tears
The quest to never rest
At least we enjoyed the ride
I don't know if I wanna go
And get to the other side
If there's no cigarettes and beer
This will be the one
We sing when reunited
Save me a seat until we meet
Breaking curfew in Heaven as on earth
Saying, “These go to eleven” but is it worth
St. Peter sniffing around our suspicious purple cloud,
knockin' and calling out, "You boys are still too loud."
